Freshman Hannah Whisler leads Women's Golf to second place finish at rain-shortened Polar Bear Classic

HARROD -- Freshman Hannah Whisler fired a career-low 87 to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a second place finish at the 2013 Polar Bear Classic Saturday morning at Colonial Golfers Club.
The tournament was shortened to 18 holes as Sunday's second round was cancelled due to heavy rains in the area.
The Polar Bears (11-13 Overall) were in second place out of six teams with a 369 after the first 18 holes of the 36-hole tournament.
Ohio Wesleyan won the team title with a 358, Northwestern Ohio was third with a 374 and Capital was fourth with a 395.
Whisler tied for third out of 30 golfers with her 87 on the par-72, 5829-yard course.
Junior Megan Conley was fifth with an 89, freshman Ariana Tomasula was 13th with a 96 and junior Allison Fye and freshman Heather Comer are tied for 14th with 97s.
Ohio Wesleyan's Courtney Tincher won Medalist honors with an 83.
Whisler and Conley were named to the All-Tournament Team by virtue of their top-5 finishes.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their Fall schedule next Saturday and Sunday at the Wittenberg Fall Invitational.
