Emily Gedert earns Medalist honors, leads Women's Golf to third place finish at ONU Invitational

HARROD — Ohio Northern senior Emily Gedert won Medalist honors to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team to a third place finish at the 2012 ONU Invitational Friday and Saturday at Colonial Golfers Club.
Gedert carded an 85-84—169 to win the 36-hole tournament by a full 10 strokes on the par-72, 5829-yard course.
The Polar Bears (24-50) finished third of seven teams with 772 strokes.
Otterbein won the team title with a 722, Capital was second at 754 and John Carroll was fourth with an 826.
ONU freshman Allison Fye finished 10th with a 96-93—189, freshman Megan Conley was 14th with a 96-97—193, senior Kim McGowan was 20th with a 109-112—221 and freshman Kaitlyn Nestel was 22nd with a 116-114—230.
The Polar Bears will wrap up their regular season Saturday and Sunday at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Foxfire Golf Club in Lockbourne, hosted by Capital.
