Senior Emily Gedert fires final round 75 to lead Women's Golf at Ohio Wesleyan Invitational

OSTRANDER — Senior Emily Gedert fired a 3-over par 75 on the final day to lead the Ohio Northern women's golf team at the Ohio Wesleyan Laura Bump Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Mill Creek Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (20-48) finished 15th out of 15 teams with a 408-379—787 at the 36-hole event.

Gedert carded a 16-over par 85-75—160 to finish second out of 93 golfers on the par-72, 5821-yard course.

No. 15-ranked Annegheny (Pa.) won the team title with a 330-333—663, No. 22 Wittenberg was second with a 341-328—669 and Baldwin-Wallace was third with a 338-336—674.

Freshman Megan Conley tied for 62nd with a 91-100—191, freshman Allison Fye tied for 66th with a 100-93—193, senior Kim McGowan was tied for 85th with a 132-112—244 and freshman Kaitlyn Nestel tied for 85th with a 133-111—244 for Ohio Northern.

Mount Union's Mary Snode won Medalist honors with a 15-over par 79-748—159.

The Polar Bears will return to action Friday and Saturday when they host the annual ONU Invitational at Colonial Golfers Club.
