Seckel leads Women's Bowling on Day 1 of Keystone Quaker Classic

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Ohio Northern women's bowling team closed out Day 1 of the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic in 17th place on Wednesday.
The Basics
- Ohio Northern finished 17th of 17 teams with 3,317 pins on Day 1 of the competition, which consisted of five team games.
- Venue: Haja Rose Bowl — Allentown, Pa.
The Tournament
- ONU currently trails 16th-place Erie Community College by 467 pins.
- Pikeville leads the event after Day 1 with 4,609 pins.
- Individually, freshman Emily Seckel (Marion/Pleasant) led the Polar Bears on Day 1 with 839 pins through five games. She posted a high game of 188 with an average game of 167.8 and placed 36th of 125 bowlers.
- Freshman Lizzy Frank (Rayland/Buckeye Local) placed 68th with 633 pins through five games. She posted a high game of 145 and averaged 126.6.
- Freshmen Lexa Steinke (Wapakoneta/New Bremen), Lilly Stewart (Kingston/Zane Trace) and Jaylynn Brownlee (Powell/Olentangy) placed 70th, 72nd and 73rd, respectively.
- Steinke totaled 620 pins in five games with a high of 156 and an average of 124.
- Stewart totaled 613 pins in five games with a high of 148 and an average of 122.6.
- Brownlee totaled 612 pins in five games with a high of 151 and an average of 122.4.
Notables
- This was the third of four days for the Polar Bears competing in two events in Pennsylvania.
- The Polar Bears placed 18th of 18 teams at the two-day Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic at Jordan Lanes in Whitehall, Pa., on Monday and Tuesday.
- First-year head coach Jeff Robinson leads the Polar Bears.
