Allen, Akamine, Dickson named Academic All-District in Women's Basketball by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Seniors Abi Akamine (Lahaina Hawaii/Lahainaluna), Brooke Allen (Woodville/Woodmore) and Abby Dickson (Germantown/Valley View) were named Academic All-District in women's basketball for the 2024-25 season by the College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 GPA and must have played in 90 percent or started 66 percent of his or her team's games in a season.
Akamine started all 27 games this season at shooting guard for the Polar Bears.
This season, she averaged 6.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
In 96 career games, Akamine averages 5.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest.
Allen is a three-year starter in the post and is now a three-time All-Conference honoree after being named to First Team this season.
She averaged 10.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season and averaged 9.4 ppg and 5.1 rpg in 106 career games.
Allen is ranked 6th all-time at ONU with a career field goal percentage of 50.8 and is ranked 7th all-time with 57 blocked shots.
Dickson started 26 games at guard, averaging 4.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
In 91 career games, she averages 3.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
All three women are also three-time Academic All-OAC honorees.
The Polar Bears finished the 2024-25 season with a 19-8 overall record, finished second in the OAC with a 14-4 record and were runner ups in the OAC Tournament under fifth-year head coach Mark Huelsman.
