Brooke Allen headlines list of four Polar Bears named All-OAC in Women's Basketball

ADA — Senior Brooke Allen (Woodville/Woodmore) was named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference, leading a list of four Polar Bears named All-OAC for the 2024-25 season in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.
Junior Mackenzie Suprano (Cutler/Waterford) was named Second Team All-OAC while fifth-year senior Kristen Luersman (Fort Jennings) and senior Abi Akamine (Lahaina, Hawaii/Lahainaluna) were named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Allen is a three-year starter in the post and is now a three-time All-Conference honoree after being named Second Team as a sophomore and junior.
She leads the team in scoring this season at 10.4 ppg and is tied for third on the team in rebounding at 5.9 rpg.
In 104 career games at ONU, she has 968 points, 532 rebounds and 57 blocked shots. She is ranked 6th all-time in ONU history with a career field goal percentage of 50.8 and her block total is tied for 7th all-time.
Suprano is a first-time All-OAC honoree.
She led the team in rebounding this season at 6.8 rpg and is second in scoring at 9.1 ppg.
In 79 career games, she has scored 520 points, grabbed 359 rebounds and had 67 steals.
Luersman is now a two-time All-Conference honoree after being named First Team as a junior.
She was third on the team in scoring at 8.2 ppg and second on the team in rebounding at 6.2 rpg.
In 101 games at ONU, she has 826 points, 672 rebounds and 47 blocks. She is ranked 7th in ONU history in total rebounds and 11th in blocks.
Akamine is also a first-time All-OAC honoree.
She led the team in assists this season with 62, while averaging 2.5 apg. She also ranked 5th on the team in scoring at 7.0 ppg.
In 94 games, she scored 514 points, grabbed 211 rebounds, dished out 130 assists and had 67 steals.
The Polar Bears are 18-7 overall and finished second in the OAC with a 14-4 record under fifth-year head coach Mark Huelsman.
Northern returns to action Thursday in the OAC Tournament Semifinals, hosting Otterbein at the ONU Sports Center at 7 p.m. ONU is looking for its third consecutive OAC Tournament title and the seventh in program history.
