Suprano, Allen lead Women's Basketball in 59-36 win over Muskingum

NEW CONCORD — Junior Mackenzie Suprano (Cutler/Waterford) and senior Brooke Allen (Woodville/Woodmore) scored 12 points each to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team in a 59-36 win over Muskingum on Saturday afternoon.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (14-7 Overall, 10-4 OAC), Muskingum (4-17 Overall, 2-12 OAC).

The Game
- Suprano also had seven rebounds and three steals while Allen had six rebounds.
- Senior Abi Akamine (Lahaina, Hawaii/Lahainaluna) added 10 points and a team-high four assists.
- Sophomore Chloee Glenn (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) led the team with nine rebounds and had eight points.
- Junior Noelle Ruane (St. Marys) pitched in five points and seven rebounds.
- Mckenna Baney led Muskingum with 13 points.
- Northern started on a quick 6-0 run with 7:05 left in the first quarter.
- The Polar Bears led 14-9 at the end of one quarter.
- ONU out-scored MU 16-3 in the second quarter to lead 30-12 at halftime.
- Ohio Northern led 47-24 at the end of the third quarter.
- ONU went on an 8-0 run to start the second quarter to go up 22-9 with 6:33 left in the half.
- Ohio Northern made 21-of-66 field goals for 31.8 percent and was 5-of-25 from beyond the arc for 20.0 percent, while Muskingum was 12-of-52 from the floor for 23.1 percent and finished 4-of-19 on 3-pointers for 21.1 percent.
- The Polar Bears made 12-of-19 free throws for 63.2 percent and the Muskies were 8-of-10 from the line for 80.0 percent.
- ONU out-rebounded MU 55-29.

- Fifth-year senior Kristen Luersman (Fort Jennings) is now 8th in ONU history with 646 career rebounds. She also has scored 798 points in 97 career games.
- Glenn leads the OAC in field goal percentage at 59.4 percent, and Allen is ranked second at 59.0 percent.
- This is the 53rd season of Ohio Northern women's basketball. The Polar Bears are now 773-515 all-time in program history for a winning percentage of .600.
- Fifth-year head coach Mark Huelsman is now 82-38 at Ohio Northern, a winning percentage of .683.
