Chloee Glenn leads Women's Basketball in a 69-47 win at Wilmington

WILMINGTON — Freshman Chloee Glenn (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) scored 11 points to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 69-47 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night.

The Game
- Glenn also grabbed four rebounds.
- Fifth-year senior All-American Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) tallied 10 points, handed out four assists, forced four turnovers, and lead the team with six rebounds.
- Juniors Jada Benjamin (Parma/Valley Forge) and Abi Akamine (Lahaina,HI/Lahainaluna) posted nine points apiece, along with five and three rebounds respectively.
- Senior Kristen Luersman (Fort Jennings) chipped in six points and grabbed four rebounds for her second game back from injury.
- Sophomore Noelle Ruane (St. Marys) scored five points and had five rebounds off the bench.
- Stephanie Altstaetter led the Quakers with 19 points.
- The Quakers started off strong with an 11-4 run forcing a Polar Bear time out 4:56 into the game.
- However, Northern responded with a 10-2 run to take the lead late in the first quarter.
- A steal and a shot by Cassidy Lovett put the Quakers back on top to end the first quarter 18-16.
- In the second quarter, Northern pulled away out scoring Wilmington by a 20-7 margin.
- The Polar Bears continued to widen the gap throughout the third quarter outscoring the Quakers 18-12, finishing the quarter up 54-37.
- Early in the fourth, Northern went on a 8-2 run making it 62-39.
- With :10 left, sophomore Riley Heitkamp (Fort Loramie) assisted freshman Courtney Sumner (Ada) in a layup for a 69-47 finish.
- Ohio Northern made 26-of-60 field goals for 43.3 percent and was 9-of-19 from beyond the arc for 47.4 percent while WC was 16-of-48 from the floor for 33.3 percent and finished 6-of-18 on 3-pointers for 33.3 percent.
- ONU made 8-of-11 free throws for 72.7 percent and WC was 9-of-11 from the line for 81.8 percent.
- The Polar Bears out-rebounded the Quakers by a 41-26 margin.
Notables
- Serbin's 10-point game makes this her 18th game in double digits this season.
- Northern is now 39-23 all-time against Wilmington, including a 15-12 mark in Wilmington.
- ONU has clinched the No. 3 seed in the OAC Tournament Feb. 20-24 and will host a quarterfinal game against the No. 6 seed on Feb. 20.
- Serbin is ONU's all-time leader in career steals with 288 and assists with 381.
- Serbin moved up on ONU's all-time career scoring list with 1249 points. She ranks third all-time with 180 made 3-pointers in her career, is 11th all-time in made free throws with 217, is 12th all-time in rebounds with 560 and seventh all-time with 426 made field goals.
- Serbin is the only women's basketball player in ONU history to tally at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists and 200 steals in her career.
- Fourth-year head coach Mark Huelsman is now 64-29 at Ohio Northern for a winning percentage of .688.
