Serbin pours in a career-high 32 points, leads Women's Basketball in tight 72-71 loss to Baldwin Wallace in battle of league leaders

ADA — Fifth-year senior All-American Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) scored a career-high 32 points and dished out seven assists to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team in a tight 72-71 loss to Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday night in a battle of league leaders.

- Junior Brooke Allen (Woodville/Woodmore) had her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore Noelle Ruane (St. Marys) had 12 points off the bench for ONU.
- Caely Ressler led the Yellow Jackets with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
- Serbin made two free throws with 15 seconds left to put the Polar Bears on top 71-70 with 15 seconds left in the game.
- Ressler was fouled with 1.8 seconds left and made both free throws to put the visitors ahead 72-71.
- After a timeout advanced the ball to midcourt, Serbin got off a contested three-pointer ahead of the buzzer, but it was wide and the Yellow Jackets escaped with the win.
- Northern led 41-33 at halftime, but BW got red-hot from long range, making 9-of-13 three-pointers in the final 20 minutes.
- The games was tied at 13-all at the end of the 1st quarter, Northern led 41-33 at halftime and BW held a 59-57 lead after three quarters in the contest that was tight throughout.

- ONU made 11-of-13 free throws for 84.6 percent and BWU was 7-of-13 from the line for 53.8 percent.
