Women’s Basketball ranked No. 12 in final WBCA Poll of 2022-23 season

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team is ranked No. 12 in the final Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll for the 2022-23 season, which was released on Monday.
The Polar Bears received 118 points in the poll and improved one spot from the previous poll, which was released on Feb. 28.
National champion Transylvania (Ky.) is the top-ranked team in the poll, receiving 250 points and all 10 first-place votes.
National runner-up Christopher Newport (Va.), Smith (Mass.), Trinity (Tex.) and New York University round out the top five.
The Polar Bears finished the 2022-23 season with a 25-5 overall record, including a 15-3 mark in Ohio Athletic Conference play. They won the OAC Regular Season championship and OAC Tournament title en route to advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
Northern hosted first- and second-round NCAA Tournament games, defeating Berea (Ky.) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh before falling at Transylvania in the Sweet 16.
