Iliff scores career-high 16 points as Women's Basketball falls at Baldwin Wallace 61-54

BEREA — Junior Kate Iliff (Lorain/Steele) scored a career-high 16 points to lead the Ohio Northern women's basketball team in a 61-54 loss at Baldwin Wallace on Friday night at Ursprung Gymnasium.
The Polar Bears fall to 4-7 overall and are 4-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 8-3, 8-3.
Sophomore Brynn Serbin (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) added 13 points for ONU.
BW was led by Lilly Edwards with 27 points and 16 rebounds.
The hosts used an early 7-0 run to go up 9-2 four minutes into the contest.
BW led 15-9 after one period and 28-19 at halftime.
Serbin scored seven of her 13 points to cap a 9-0 run to give the Polar Bears a 33-32 lead with 4:25 left in the third quarter.
Iliff scored inside with 6:43 left in the game to put ONU ahead 49-48.
The Yellow Jackets answered with an 11-0 run over the next 5:21 to go up 59-49 with 1:44 to go.
Ohio Northern made 17-of-53 field goals for 32.1 percent and was 7-of-20 from 3-point range for 35.0 percent, while Baldwin Wallace made 19-of-54 field goals for 35.2 percent and made 6-of-18 from beyond the arc for 33.3 percent.
BW out-rebounded ONU 42-33.
The Polar Bears will return to for their regular season finale on Saturday with a 6 pm contest against Baldwin Wallace at the ONU Sports Center.
