Lauck's basket with 6 seconds left in OT lifts No. 7-ranked Women's Basketball to 62-61 win at Wilmington

WILMINGTON — Senior Britt Lauck (Lima/Shawnee) scored with six seconds left in overtime to lift the No. 7-ranked Ohio Northern women's basketball team to a 62-61 victory at Wilmington on Wednesday night at Raizk Arena.
The Polar Bears remain undefeated on the season at 18-0 and now have a 3-game lead in the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season standings with a perfect 11-0 mark.
The Quakers fall to 12-6 overall and are 8-3 in the OAC.
Junior Amy Bullimore (Morrow/Little Miami) had her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Junior Lindsey Black (Urbana/Graham) hit a 3-pointer with 44 seconds left in overtime to give Ohio Northern a 60-58 lead.
WC got a 3-point play with 15.3 seconds to play to put the hosts back up 61-60.
But Lauck scored with six seconds left to put ONU back on top and WC's final shot missed the mark with one second left, keeping Northern's undefeated season intact.
Bullimore scored with 4.3 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 51-all, then blocked Wilmington's final shot just before the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
The score was tied at 21-all at halftime and Northern led 38-31 heading into the fourth quarter.
A 6-0 WC run trimmed the lead to 40-39 before senior Angela Tesny (Medina) nailed a three to extend the lead to 43-39 with 5:12 to go.
Black scored to make it 45-39 with 4:27 left, but WC rallied with the next five points to get within 45-44 with 3:11 to go.
Neither team would lead by more than three points the rest of the game.
Ohio Northern was 18-of-63 from the floor for 28.6 percent and was 6-of-21 from beyond the 3-point arc for 28.6 percent.
Wilmington made 21-of-54 field goal attempts for 38.9 percent and made 4-of-19 from 3-point range for 21.1 percent.
WC out-rebounded ONU 43-37.
The Polar Bears will return home on Saturday to face Capital in a 3 pm contest at the ONU Sports Center.
