Women's Basketball lands five Academic All-OAC honorees

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's basketball team had five players named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference for 2015-16 in voting done by the leagues academic advisors.
Seniors Brooke Espenschied and Carly Thomas, junior Angela Tesny, and sophomores Courtney Cramer and Cheyenne Raker all received the honor.
Espenschied is a pharmacy major and earns her third Academic All-OAC accolade.
This season she started all 28 games for the Polar Bears, averaging 6.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and a team-leading 1.2 spg.
Thomas also earns her third Academic All-Conference honor.
The biology and pre-med major averaged 9.9 ppg, 2.0 apg and 1.1 spg, while appearing in 27 games for the Polar Bears this season.
Tesny, a mechanical engineering major, earns her second Academic All-Conference honor.
She appeared in all 28 games for ONU this season, averaging 1.2 apg and 4.4 ppg.
Cramer earns her first Academic All-Conference honor.
The marketing major appeared in all 28 games for ONU, making 24 three-pointers, while shooting 35 percent from the field in 2015-16.
Raker, a mechanical engineering major, appeared in 15 games for the Polar Bears, averaging 1.7 rpg.
She earns her first Academic All-OAC honor.
The Polar Bears finished the season 23-5 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
