Freshman Amy Bullimore leads Women's Basketball to a 73-42 win over Wilmington

ADA — Ohio Northern women's basketball team used a series of runs to defeat Wilmington in dominating fashion 73-42 Wednesday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears improve to 15-5 and are 11-2 Ohio Athletic Conference play, while Wilmington falls to 11-9, 6-7.
After a 3-pointer from Wilmington's Ashley Andracki to start the second half, the Polars Bears responded with an 11-0 run, led by junior Carly Thomas, that pushed their lead to 40-22 with 15 minutes remaining in the contest.
Seconds later, Ohio Northern erupted on a 12-0 run as freshman Amy Bullimore scored six points to push the ONU advantage to 52-25.
Freshman Jenna Hollar ended the contest for the Polar Bears on a 5-0 run in route to the ONU 73-42 victory.
Ohio Northern was led in the contest by Bullimore, who scored a team-high 12 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Senior Jordan Kimes netted 11 points, while junior Karissa Steffas and Thomas chipped in 10.
ONU opened the contest with an 8-0 run to take a 19-9 advantage half way through the first.
Bullimore led the charge as she netted six of her 12 total points during the 8-0 run.
The Polar Bears out scored the Quakers in the first half 27-16.
Ohio Northern out rebounded Wilmington in the contest 40-33 and recorded 15 second chance points.
The Polar Bears are next in action Saturday as they travel to Mount Union to take on the Purple Raiders at 3 pm.
