Yoder records double double in No. 7 Women's Basketball 73-58 loss to John Carroll

ADA -- Senior Cenzie Yoder notched her eighth career double double, but the No. 7 Ohio Northern women's basketball team suffered a 73-58 loss to John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears fall to 4-2 on the season and 0-2 in OAC play, while the Blue Streaks remain perfect at 6-0, 2-0.
Yoder finished the game with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophomore Brooke Espenschied added nine points and junior Becca Saine scored seven off of the bench.
Missy Spahar led JCU with a game high 26 points.
The Blue Streaks jumped out to a early 15-9 lead, but ONU countered with a 6-0 run, capped off by two free throws from junior Kaitlyn Theisen, to knot the game up at 15-15.
John Carroll used an 8-0 run to open up a 32-21 lead, but the Polar Bears came back to score five of the next six points and trail 33-26 at the break.
The Polar Bears cut the Blue Streak lead to 33-31 on a three-point play from Espenschied with just over 18 minutes left to play.
But the Blue Streaks came right back, using a 11-0 to push their lead back to 44-31 with 15:36 remaining.
Northern kept battling and Espenschied drained a three to cut the JCU lead to 53-46.
John Carroll came right back with a 11-2 run of its own to put the game away.
ONU finished 21-of-55 (38.2 percent) from the field, while the Blue Streaks shot 27-of-60 (45.0 percent).
JCU held a slim advantage in rebounding 42-40.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Wednesday, when it hits the road to take on non-conference foe Ohio Wesleyan at 7 pm.
