A memorable Women's Basketball season officially draws to a close

ADA -- The Ohio Northern women's basketball team was not selected as an at-large team for the 2012 NCAA Tournament on Monday afternoon, officially ending the season after Saturday's OAC Tournament championship game.

The Polar Bears finish the season 21-6 overall, including a 14-4 finish for second place in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

Junior Morgan Dumbaugh was ONU's leading scorer with 12.2 ppg, followed by senior Kara Dysert and sophomore Cenzie Yoder with 12.0 ppg. Dysert also finished the season as the team's leading rebounder at 8.6 rpg.

Northern lost 77-60 to top-seeded and nationally ranked Mount Union on Saturday in the conference tournament Championship game. It was ONU's first appearance in the league tournament game since the 1988-89 season.
