Massie, Clouse earn All-Region honors as Men's Cross Country finishes 6th at NCAA III Great Lakes Regional Championship

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team finished 6th out of 42 teams at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championship on Saturday afternoon.

- The Polar Bears finished 6th out of 42 scoring teams.
- No. 27-ranked Calvin (Mich.) won the team title with 99 points, No. 18 John Caroll placed 2nd with 112 points, Hope (Mich.) finished 3rd with 129 points and Case Western Reserve finished fourth with 137 points.
Top ONU Performers
- Senior Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) led the Polar Bears across the finish line in 25:27, finishing 16th of 283 runners and earning him All-Region honors.
- Junior Jacob Clouse (Alvada) was 32nd in 25:46 also earning him All-Region honors.
- Fifth-year Senior Jared Swartz (Columbia Station) finished 51st in 26:13.
- Senior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell Loudon) finished 57th in 26:15.5.
- Fifth-year Senior Ian Auckenhausen (Xenia/Legacy Christian Academy) finished 58th in 26:15.6.
- Freshman Chris Bond (Franklin) finished 131 in 27:14.
- Senior Keefer McClure (Toledo/Ottawa Hills) finished 200th in 28:48.

- Ohio Northern had two runners earn All-Region Honors.
- Massie and Clouse also earned All-Region honors in 2023.
- Ohio Northern's Men Cross country have now placed top ten in the region the last 19 years.
- The top team finishers in each of the 10 NCAA Regional Championship race across the country earn automatic bids to the NCAA III Championships Nov. 23 at Terre Haute, Ind.
- There are 22 at-large bids to be handed out Sunday afternoon.
- Individually, the top 7 runners in each region not on a qualifying team will also receive bids to compete.
- 16th-year head coach Jason Maus is now 1612-427 as head coach of the ONU men's cross country program and is the winningest coach in program history.
