Men's Cross Country places eighth of 26 at All-Ohio Classic

CEDARVILLE — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team finished 8th of 26 teams on Friday evening at the All-Ohio Classic hosted by Cedarville.
The Basics

- Rio Grande placed first with 69 points, Cedarville was 2nd with 108 points and Shawnee State came 3rd with 116 Case Western came fourth with 135 points.
Top ONU Performers
- Fifth-year senior Ian Ackenhausen (Xenia/Legacy Christian Academy) led the Polar Bears across the finish line in 26:18 to finish 34th of 325 runners.
- Fifth-year senior Jared Swartz (Columbia) was 44th in 26:22.
- Junior Jacob Clouse (Alvada) was 52nd in 26:28.4.
- Fifth-year Senior Trent Babcock (Painesville) finished 40th in 26:30.
- Freshman Jonas King (Waynesville) came 85th in a personal best 26:59.
Notables
- This is the fourth consecutive year and the 12th time in the past 13 races that Cedarville has served as host of the Classic. The 2020 event was canceled due to Covid.
- 16th-year head coach Jason Maus is now 1514-397 as head coach of the ONU men's cross country program and is the winningest coach in program history.
