ADA — Ohio Northern junior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell Loudon) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the week of Sept. 25 to Oct. 1.
This marks Masterson's first career OAC Runner of the Week accolade.
The recognition comes after he led the 26th-ranked Polar Bears across the finish line at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Friday as the event's individual champion.
Masterson ran a personal-best time of 25:26 to come out on top of the 200-runner field in the 8K race at Liberty Park in Powell. His previous career-best time was 25:32.
Masterson was one of three Polar Bears to finish in the top 10 as Northern claimed its third straight team title to improve to 39-2 on the season.
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational for their final meet before the OAC Championships scheduled for Oct. 28.
