Men's Cross Country finishes 18th of 36 at Pre-National Meet

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team finished 18th of 36 teams at the Pre Nationals meet on Saturday afternoon at Forest Akers East Golf Course.
The Polar Bears (52-19 overall) scored 494 points, topping OAC foe Baldwin-Wallace.
Junior Kyle Roth (Rockford/Parkway) led the Polar Bears across the finish line, placing 73rd of 329 runners overall with a personal-best time of 26:05 on the 8,000-meter course.
Sophomore Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell/Loudon) was 78th in 26:12, senior Breydan Hann (Wooster) was 114th in 26:42, junior Jared Swartz (Columbia Station/Columbia) was 128th in 26:49, junior Braden Schaser (Fostoria/Lakota) was 133rd in 26:52, sophomore Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) was 138th in 26:55, and freshman Logan Murray (Oxford/Talawanda) was 143rd in 26:59 to round out ONU's seven competitors.
The times for Masterson, Swartz, Schaser, Massie, and Murray were career bests.
Wisconsin La-Crosse's Ethan Gregg was the top overall finisher, running a time of 24:12.
In all, 11 of the 36 teams were ranked nationally in the latest USTFCCCA Division III poll.
The Polar Bears return to action October 15th at the Oberlin Regional Rumble at 11 am.
