Patrick Baker, Taylor Ellerbrock win 2-Mile races in Polar Bear Grand Prix series

ADA — Juniors Patrick Baker (Massillon/Jackson) and Taylor Ellerbrock (Columbus Grove) won the men's and women's 2-mile races on Friday night under the lights at Kerscher Stadium.
Baker won the men's race in 9:29 and Ellerbrock won the women's race in 11:20.
Baker's victory moved him into the lead in the men's individual standings. His win earned him 262.5 points and gives him 912.5 for the Grand Prix Series standings.
Sophomore Billy Driemeyer (House Springs, Mo./Lindbergh) is second with 900 points and senior Travis Sutter (Fort Recovery) remains third with 837.5 points.
Sutter finished second in the race in 9:31 and earned 225 points, while Sutter was third in the race in 9:41 and earned 187.5 points.
Ellerbrock also moved into first place with her victory, earning 262.5 points.
She is now tied with senior Megan Wright (Eaton/Twin Valley South) with 912.5 points in the women's individual standings.
Wright was second in the 2-mile in 11:27 and earned 225 points. Junior Rue Whitmore (Mason) was third in the race in 11:30 and is now fifth in the standings with 475 points.
Freshman Megan Vapenik (Strongsville) was sixth in the race in 11:43 and is now third in the individual standings with 662.5 points.
