MASON — Senior Nathan Rosenbaum ran the third fastest time in ONU history to lead the Ohio Northern Men's Cross Country team to a 7th place finish out of 31 teams Saturday afternoon at the Division III Pre-National Meet in Mason.

Rosenbaum  finished 28th of 375 runners in 24:46.34.

His time makes him the third fastest runner in ONU history, and the fastest in 34 years since Bill Young ran a 24:32 in 1980.

The Polar Bears improve their record to 50-9 on the year with the seventh place finish. 

No. 1 North Central (Ill.) won the team title with 16 points, No. 27 Geneseo St. (N.Y.) was second with 91 points and No. 13 Loras was third with 103 points. 

ONU placed five runners in the top 75 finishers on the day. 

Sophomore Kase Schalois finished in 61st place with 25:17.30, sophomore Cully Gordon finished 67th with 25:24.17,sophomore Andrew Harden finished 69th with 25:25.43 while sophomore Aaren Hemmelgarn finished 72nd with 25:27.63.

Troy Kelleher (North Central, Ill.) won the race in 23:36.28.

Ohio Northern will return to action October 3rd as they travel to Cedarville for the All-Ohio Championships set for a 2:45 pm start.
