Men's Cross Country wins season-opening Bluffton Invitational

BLUFFTON —The Ohio Northern men's cross country team opened its 2013 campaign by winning the Bluffton Invitational on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (2-0) scored 23 points, Bluffton was second with 79 points and Heidelberg was third with 124 points. A team of ONU Alumni runners scored 82 points in the meet.
Ohio Northern was led by senior Mark Berton, who finished second of 60 runners in 19:30 for the 6,000-meter course.
Junior Nathan Rosenbaum was third in 19:40, sophomore William Huddleston was fifth in 19:55, sophomore Eric Wymer was sixth in 19:56 and junior Kyle Wagner was seventh in 20:06.
ONU alum Brent Martin won the race in 19:27.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday at the Hanover (Ind.) Invtational.
