GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Senior Mark Berton finished eighth of 333 runners to lead the Ohio Northern men's cross country team to a seventh place finish at the 20-team Calvin (Mich.) Knight Invitational Saturday morning.

The Polar Bears (15-6) finished with 179 points. No. 7-ranked Calvin (Mich.) won the team crown with 30 points, No. 5 (NCAA Division II) Grand Valley State (Mich.) was second with 109 points and No. 15 Allegheny (Pa.) was third with 125 points.

Berton finished in 25:19 on the 8,000-meter course.

Senior Michael Simmons finished 28th in 25:53, sophomore Nathan Rosenbaum was 49th in 26:16, junior Tyler Feitshans was 57th in 26:25 and junior Evan McKee was 68th in 26:35 for Ohio Northern.

The Polar Bears return to action Sept. 22 at the Williams (Mass.) Classic.
