Men's Cross Country wins All-Ohio Championships title for third time in last five years

CEDARVILLE — The Ohio Northern men's cross country won the NCAA Division III race of the All-Ohio Championships for the third time in the last five years at Cedarville's King Cross Country Course Friday afternoon.
The Polar Bears (41-6) finished with 83 points. Ohio Wesleyan was third with 107 points, Mount Union was third with 138 points and John Carroll was fourth with 146 points.
ONU also won the team title in 2007 and again in 2009.
Senior Dan Smith led Ohio Northern with an eighth place finish out of 147 runners in 26:26 over the 8,000-meter course.
Freshman Nathan Rosenbaum was 12th in 26:41, junior Ben Ankrom was 15th in 26:47, junior Kenton Holliday was 20th in 26:55 and sophomore Mark Berton was 24th in 27:07.
Franciscan's Bill Jones won the individual race in 25:15.
The Polar Bears will return to action Oct. 15 at Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
