ADA — Casey Gantt has been named assistant coach for men's and women's cross country and track & field. He replaces Michael Scott who had been the programs' assistant coach for two seasons.
Gantt is no stranger to the Polar Bear program, as he started in early 2011 as the recruiting assistant. He brings coaching experience as a volunteer coach at Carthage College and from Grayslake Central High School (Ill.).
Additionally, Gantt has a bachelor's degree from Illinois State, where he was a four-year varsity and multiple time All-Conference athlete. He was also named an scholar athlete and was inducted into the Lake County (Ill.) Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.
Gantt earned his master's degree in sport management from the United States Sports Academy. Gantt has also earned his USATF Level 1 certification.
"I believe Casey will be a strong addition to our program. He has a tremendous work ethic and great enthusiasm for the sport and Ohio Northern," says head coach Jason Maus. "This, coupled with his knowledge and experience, will be able to help the Polar Bear programs remain competitive."
Gantt and his wife Erin reside in Ada with their son Michael.
