ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Senior Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) set a school record and earned All-America honors in the 400-meter dash with a fifth place finish for the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team on the final day of the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Saturday.

Notables

  • Dean qualified in the 400 in a school record 47.99 on a banked track and was seeded sixth nationally. 
  • His :48.10 prelim time was the school flat-track record, bettering his previous mark of :48.22.
  • He was making his second NCAA Indoor Championships appearance and his fourth overall. Last winter, he finished 12th in the 400 at the NCAA Championships in :48.33.
  • Dean has earned All-America honors twice in the 400 Outdoors, finishing sixth last season and eighth as a sophomore in 2023.
  • Sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) finished fourth in his heat and 10th overall in the 60-meter dash in 6.79 seconds on Friday.
  • Boothby was also 17th in the long jump with an effort of 6.89 meters
  • Boothby qualified in both the 60-meter dash and the long jump with school record efforts in each.
  • He was seeded fifth in the long jump at 7.35 meters.
  • His 60 prelim time of 6.79 was just .01 of a second off his school-record qualifying time of 6.78 seconds.
  • The top 20 individuals in each event qualify for the NCAA III Championships. The top eight finishers earn All-America honors.
  • Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 607-178-1 in women's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .772. He is ONU's all-time winningest coach in track and field history.
