Dean, Boothby receive bids to compete at NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships
ADA — Senior All-American Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) and sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) received bids on Sunday evening to participate in the NCAA III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 14-15 in Rochester, N.Y.
Dean qualified in the 400 in a school record 47.99 and is seeded sixth nationally. He will compete in the prelims Friday at 3:05 pm, with the finals on Saturday at 4:25 pm.
He is making his second NCAA Indoor Championships appearance and his fourth overall. Last winter, he finished 12th in the 400 in :48.33.
Dean earned All-America honors twice in the 400 Outdoors, finishing sixth last season and eighth as a sophomore in 2023.
Boothby qualified in both the 60-meter dash and the long jump with school record efforts in each.
He is seeded fifth in the long jump at 7.35 meters and will compete on Friday at 3:30 pm.
At 2 pm on Friday he will run in the prelims of the 60, where he is tied for ninth nationally at 6.78 seconds. The finals of the 60 are set for Saturday at 3:25 pm.
The top 20 individuals in each event qualify for the NCAA III Championships. The top eight finishers earn All-America honors.
The Polar Bears finished the regular season 50-6 Overall.
