Barker, Boothby win titles to lead Men's Track and Field on final day of OAC Indoor Championships

ADA — Senior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) and sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) each won Ohio Athletic Conference titles to lead Ohio Northern on the second day of the 2025 OAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

- Record: Ohio Northern (50-6 Overall).
- Venue: ONU Sports Center - Ada, Ohio.
Meet Results
- Ohio Northern finished third of 10 teams with 124.5 points.
- Mount Union won the team title with 178 points, Baldwin Wallace was third with 132 points and John Carroll was fourth with 102 points.
- The meet consisted of 19 events, including six field events, 10 running events and three relays.
Top ONU Performers
- Barker won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.52 seconds.
- Boothby broke his own OAC record in the 60 dash, finishing first in 6.80 seconds.
- Fifth-year senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) earned All-Conference accolades in the 800, finishing second in 1:56.78.
- The 4x400 relay team of junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day), senior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa), sophomore Carter Byers (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) and Myers were second in 3:22.86 to earn All-OAC kudos.
- Senior All-American Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) was All-OAC in the 60 with a third place finish in 6.91 seconds.
- Senior Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) was All-Conference in the 3,000 in 8:36.64, finishing third.
- Sophomore J.D. Dillman (Bethel) earned All-Conferece honors with a third place finish in the triple jump at 13.65 meters.
- The 4x200 relay team of freshman Dylan Dowell (Mount Vernon), Schlatter, O'Neill, and Byers were All-OAC with a third place finish in 1:30.86.
- Senior Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) was fifth in the 3k in 8:39.45.
- ONU finished 5-8 in the 60 hurdles behind Barker, as freshman Luke Lazarich (Celina) was fifth in :08.75, sophomore Chaz Miller (Lew Lebanon/Dixie) was sixth in :08.751, Byers was seventh in :08.759 and senior Landon Remmert (Marengo/Highland) was eighth in :09.44.
- Junior Connor Robbins (Marion/River Valley) was seventh in the shot put at 14.63 meters.
- Freshman Asu Pelima (Euclid/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) was eighth in the 800 in 2:00.78.
Notables
- Boothby's 6.80 mark in the 60 broke the previous OAC record of 6.84 he set in the prelims on Friday. The previous record was 6.85 by Louis Berry of Mount Union set in 2019.
- His OAC mark in the 60 was just off his ONU record of 6.78 set earlier this season.
- Dillman's triple jump mark of 44-9.5 moves him into fourth place all-time in ONU history in the event.
- The 4x200 relay team's 1:30.86 is the third-fastest time in school history.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 701-165 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .810.
