Schlatter, O'Neill win events to lead Men's Track and Field at Wittenberg Invitational

SPRINGFIELD — Senior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa) and junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day) each won events to lead the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team at the Wittenberg Invitational on Saturday.

Top ONU Performers
- O'Neill won the 400 in :49.70 and Schlatter won the 500 in 1:06.09.
- Fifth-year senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) was second in the 800 in 1:54.53.
- Seniors Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) and Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) finished 2-3 in the mile run in 4:16.34 and 4:16.68, respectively.
- Sophomore Vova Herdman (Seville/Cloverleaf), senior Corey Rinehart (Galena/Olentangy Berlin) and senior J.T. Basco (Painesville/Harvey) finished 4-5-6 in the 1000. Herdman finished in 2:32.93, Rinehart in 2:33.08 and Basco in 2:33.30.
- Junior Connor Robbins (Marion/River Valley) was fourth in the shot put with a heave of 14.52 meters.
- Freshman Dylan Dowell (Mount Vernon) was fourth in the 60 in 7.03 seconds.
- Freshman Gavin Miller (Johnson City, Tenn./Science Hill) was fourth in the high jump by clearing 1.89 meters.
- Freshman Chaz Miller (Gibsonburg) tied for fourth in the pole vault at 4.25 meters.
- Freshman Curtis Ware (Findlay/Van Buren), Schlatter, freshman Romen Medley (Piqua) and sophomore Grant Conn (Medina/Buckeye Senior) won the 4x400 relay in 3:24.16.

- Schlatter moved into fifth place on ONU's all-time career 500-meter run list at 1:06.09.
- O'Neill is now No. 6 on ONU's 400 list at :49.70.
- All three men in the 1000 posted top-10 times in ONU history. Herdman is now No. 6 at 2:32.93, Rinehart is No. 7 at 2:33.08 and Basco is No. 10 at 2:33.30.
- Massie moved up to No. 7 on ONU's mile list at 4:16.68.
- Dowell is now tied for No. 10 at ONU in the 60 at :07.03.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 694-163 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .810.
