Men's Indoor Track and Field finishes 4th of 16 at All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE — The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team finished fourth of 16 teams at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday.
The Basics
- Record: Ohio Northern (43-4 Overall).
- Venue: Clements Recreational Center - Westerville, Ohio.
- ONU competed without four of its top performers, who competed at the Grand Valley State (Mich.) Big Meet on Friday.
Meet Results
- The meet consisted of 18 events, including six field events, nine running events and three relays.
- Ohio Northern finished fourth with 60.5 points.
- Mount Union won the team title with 124 points, Baldwin Wallace was second with 75 points, Denison was third with 66 points and Case Western Reserve was fifth with 57 points.
Top ONU Performers
- Fifth-year senior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) had the highest individual finish for the Polar Bears, placing second in the 800-meter run in 1:57.78.
- Sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) was third in the 60 in :06.92.
- Senior Keefer McClure (Ottawa Hills) was fourth in the 3,000 in 9:02.92.
- Freshman Chris Bond (Franklin) was fourth in the 5,000 in 15:35.31.
- Senior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) tied for fifth in the high jump by clearing 1.86 meters.
- Sophomore J.D. Dillman (Bethel) was fifth in the triple jump at 13.28 meters.
- The 4x200 relay team of freshman Dylan Dowell (Mount Vernon), Barker, Boothby and senior Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa) were second in 1:31.22.
- Junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day), Schlatter, sophomore Vova Herdman (Seville/Cloverleaf) and Myers were third in the 4x400 relay in 3:27.30.
Notables
- Dillman moved into eighth place on ONU's all-time career triple jump list with his leap of 43-6.75.
- The 4x200 relay team moved into 10th place all-time in ONU history with its 1:31.32 clocking.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 694-163 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .810.
