Boothby breaks school record, Dean ties record as Men's Track and Field opens 2024-25 season at Findlay Oiler Opener

FINDLAY — Sophomore C.J. Boothby (Milford/Clermont Northeastern) broke his own school record in the 60-meter dash and senior Jordan Dean (Cleveland/Villa Angela-Saint Joseph) tied his school record in the 200, leading the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team in its 2024-25 season opener on Friday night at the Findlay Oiler Opener.

Meet Results
- The meet consisted of 13 events, including six field events, six running events and the 4x400 relay.
- Ohio Northern finished third of 12 teams with 55.5 points.
- Findlay won the team title with 153.5 points, Windsor (Ont.) was second with 96.5 points, Hillsdale (Mich.) was fourth with 52 points and Otterbein was fifth with 33 points.

- Boothby set the record in the 60 dash in the prelims, finishing in 6.78 seconds, .15 of a second faster than his previous record of 6.93 set last year
- He won the race with a 6.80 seconds clocking in the finals.
- Dean tied his own school record in the 200, winning the race in :22.02.
- Dean was also second in the 60 dash in 6.88, which is his PR and was also faster than the previous record.
- Junior Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day) was seventh in the 60 in :07.16 and was ninth in the 200 in :23.33.
- Senior Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) won the 60 hurdles in 8.57 seconds and was fifth in the 200 in :22.99.
- Senior Landon Remmert (Marion/River Valley) was fifth in the 60 in 9.10 seconds and sophomore Carter Byers (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) was seventh in :09.34.
- Junior Solomon Lumb (Cincinnati/Sycamore) was sixth in the 200 in 22.99 seconds.
- Junior Nathan Carnevale (Beavercreek/Carroll) was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.67 meters.
- Senior Cooper Koch (Waynesville) had a personal best effort on his first throw of the season to finish ninth in the weight throw at 15.37 meters.
- Junior Connor Robbins (Marion/River Valley) was 10th in the shot put with a toss of 13.80 meters.

- The meet consisted of 12 teams from NCAA Division I, II and III teams along with Canadian school Windor (Ont.)
- Barker and Lumb each posted PRs in the 200 with their 22.99 efforts.
- Robbins' toss of 13.80 in the shot is his personal best.
- Head Coach Jason Maus is in his 16th year at Ohio Northern and is 660-160 in men's indoor track and field for a winning percentage of .805.
