Men’s Outdoor Track and Field posts 8 top-10 finishes, breaks school record in two relays at Baldwin Wallace Twilight Meet

BEREA — The Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team set new school records in the two relays as part of eight top-10 finishes at the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet at Baldwin Wallace's George Finnie Stadium and the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds on Thursday and Friday.
The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams led the way for the Polar Bears (27-6 overall) at the meet, which was not team scored.
The 4x100 team of sophomore Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) and seniors Vini Souza (Spencerville), Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding) and Ollie Jacobs (DeGraff/Riverside) posted a second-place finish in :40.82, which bested the previous school-record time of :40.88 they set at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on May 5.
The 4x400 team of Dean, Kesler, junior Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) and sophomore Ross Schlatter (Curtice/Genoa) placed third in a school-record time of 3:12.86. Dean, Kesler and Myers were part of the team that had set the previous record of 3:14.57 in 2022.
Myers added a third-place finish in the 800, running a personal-best time of 1:51.56, which ranks third all-time at ONU.
Junior Keegan Digby (Bowling Green/Otsego) posted a pair of top-10 finishes, placing fifth in the shot put with a mark of 16.85 meters and 10th in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.14 meters.
Senior Nick Tangeman (Maria Stein/Marion Local) finished eighth in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 6.77 meters, which ranks 10th all-time at ONU. He placed just outside the top 10 in the triple jump, finishing 11th with a mark of 12.61 meters.
Senior Breydan Hann (Wooster) placed 10th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a personal-best time of 9:31.55, which ranks seventh all-time at ONU.
Sophomore Tyrese Barker (Columbus/Bishop Hartley) was 10th in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of :15.10, just missing out on qualifying for eight-man final.
Freshman Zach O'Neill (Holland/Maumee Valley Country Day) added an 11th-place finish in the 400 in :50.13, and sophomore Landon Remmert (Marengo/Highland) was 14th in the 400-meter hurdles in a personal-best time of :56.03, which ranks 10th all-time at ONU.
The Polar Bears return to action on Wednesday and Thursday at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet.
