Three individuals, Men’s Track and Field team earn USTFCCCA All-Academic awards

ADA — Three individuals and the Ohio Northern men's track and field team received All-Academic honors for 2022 by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Senior pharmacy major Sam Krabacher (Hamilton/Badin), sophomore construction management major Tommy Vetrovsky (Macedonia/Nordonia) and freshman computer science major Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) were each selected as All-Academic Athletes for NCAA Division III men's track and field.
The USTFCCCA named 500-plus Division III men's track and field athletes as All-Academic for 2022.
To earn the accolade, athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and be ranked in the top 50 nationally in any event and/or be a member of a top-35 relay team.
In addition, ONU was one of 150-plus NCAA Division III teams to earn the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, which is given to programs with a minimum grade point average of 3.1.
The Polar Bears boasted a team GPA of 3.21 this season under 13th-year head coach Jason Maus.
They finished 32-3 overall and in third place at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships during the indoor portion of their schedule and went on to post a 16-3 record and fourth-place finish at the OACs in the outdoor season.
Northern has now posted 32 consecutive winning seasons indoors and 19 straight winning seasons outdoors.
