Weekend Preview: Members of the Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team are competing in two meets over the course of Friday and Saturday … Select student-athletes will be competing at the Mid-February Meet at Baldwin Wallace University on Friday … Field events at BWU begin at 4 p.m., and running events start at 5:30 p.m. … Competing at BWU are seniors Christian Booze (200 meters, 55 meter high hurdles), Jack Borden (800 meters) and Dylan Kelly (5,000 meters); junior Brandon Berry (55 meters, 200 meters); sophomores Canyon Neundorfer (500 meters), Brandon Wise (pole vault), Gabe Hensley (long jump, triple jump), Owen Schoonover (long jump), Zach DeBord (shot put, weight throw), Benjamin Arthur (weight throw) and Alexander Bearer (weight throw); and freshmen Ross Schlatter (500 meters), Landon Remmert (200 meters, 55 meter high hurdles), Mitchel Vance (200 meters, 400 meters), Torrance Nichols (200 meters, 400 meters), Keefer McClure (1,000 meters), Adam Hellman (5,000 meters) and Kaelan Turner (55 meter high hurdles) … All eligible Polar Bears will then compete in the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday on the campus of Otterbein University with events beginning at 11 a.m. … The running and jumping events will be held in the Clements Recreation and Fitness Center, and the throwing events will take place in the Rike Center … Entries are limited to the top 16 athletes (and ties) in each running event, the top 16 athletes (and ties) in each field event and the top 12 teams (and ties) in each relay event … Ohio Northern is coming off Saturday's Indiana Wesleyan Classic, which was shortened from two days to one due to inclement weather and was not team scored … The Polar Bears were led by junior Hunter Kesler and freshman Jordan Dean, who posted first-place finishes in the 200 and 400 meters, respectively … Kesler won the 200 meters in a time of :22.34, and Dean won the 400 in a time of :50.13 … Seniors Sam Krabacher and Patrick Baker finished second in the 800 and 5,000 meters, respectively, with times of 1:57.71 and 15:17.25 … The Polar Bears 4x400 relay team of senior Nate Dean, Jordan Dean, Krabacher and Kesler placed second with a time of 3:21.73 … Hensley, sophomore Trey Meyers and freshmen Thomas Masterson and Tyrese Barker also posted top-five finishes … Nate Dean currently holds program records in the 60 meter dash (:06.94) and 200 meter dash (:22.09) … The Polar Bears currently have four student-athletes and two relay teams ranked within the top 50 in NCAA Division III … Sophomore Keegan Digby ranks 19th in the shot put (15.23 meters) … Jordan Dean ranks 25th in the 400 meters (:50.13) … Kesler ranks 27th in the 200 meters (:22.34) … Senior Andrew Buderer ranks 49th in the pole vault (4.45 meters) … The 4x400 relay team ranks ninth (3:21.73) … The distance medley relay team of freshmen Corey Rinehart, Isaac Schoen and Ryan Massie and sophomore Aaron Guzman ranks 31st (10:49.20) … At the end of the season, the top 20 in each event qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships.
