OAC Championships Preview: The Ohio Northern men's track and field program vies for team and individual honors during the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at Otterbein this Friday and Saturday in Westerville ... The championship meet begins Friday with seven event finals and five prelims in the sprint and hurdle disciplines at 12 p.m. noon ... Action resumes Saturday morning with field events at 9:30 a.m. ... The top-three finishers in each event will receive All-OAC honors ... The Polar Bears enter the weekend sporting a 47-10 overall record ... Last weekend, ONU dominated the four-team AJ Cody Invitational at Kerscher Stadium on Senior Day, racking up 185.5 points to defeat Heidelberg, Manchester (Ind.), and Bluffton ... The Polar Bears recorded nine event titles over the two-day meet, including three from sophomore thrower Matt Bradshaw ... The sophomore won the hammer (50.42m), the discus (46.04), and shot put (13.73m) to score a team-high 27 points ... Senior Nicholas Krugh completed a sweep in the throwing events after tossing the javelin a career-best 40.38 meters (132' 6") for first place ... Freshman Andrew Buderer claimed the pole vault title after clearing the bar at a career-high 4.61 meters (15' 1.5") ... Junior Andrew Shelton and sophomores Travis Sutter and Donovin Moran recorded the remaining individual victories in the 800 (1:59.68), 1500 (4:19.59), and 400 (53.14) competitions, respectively ... Sophomores Jordan Green, Alessandro Tramontano, and Jackson Brandstaetter teamed up with Sutter to win the 4x400-meter relay in 3:40.62, adding an exclamation point to the Polar Bear victory ... In 2018, Ohio Northern finished third at the OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 95 team points.
