This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's track and field program returns to action this weekend as the Polar Bears compete in the two-day Findlay Alumni Classic & Elite Throws meet at nearby NCAA Division II institution Findlay ... The women will kick off the weekend on Friday with the pole vault competition beginning at 3:30 p.m. while the men start with the high jump event at 5 p.m. inside the Malcolm Athletic Center ... Action resumes Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with the men's and women's long jump and the women's open class weight throw ... The Polar Bears are fresh off a season-opening appearance at the Tiffin Dragon Open last Saturday, January 19 ... Sophomore Sam Krabacher topped the Northern efforts, edging out teammates Andrew Shelton and Jordan Green to lead a 1-2-3 finish in the men's mile with a 4:33.42 clocking ... Krabacher and Shelton would also team up with sophomore Colin McCullough and freshman Cade Harshbarger to end second in the 4x400-meter relay in the meet's final race ... Sophomore distance runner Travis Sutter and seniors Spencer Schulze and John McNutt completed a 2-3-4 finish in the men's 3,000-meter run, respectively ... Junior mid-distance specialist Riley Lamison also took home runner-up honors, placing second in the 800-meter run in 2:05.84 ... In the field events, junior Noah McKee landed fifth in the triple jump (12.34m), and freshman Luke Shellhaas captured fifth in the pole vault (4.24m) to round out the team's top-five performances.
