Josh Colbert wins long jump to lead Men's Indoor Track & Field at Day 1 of OAC Championships

ALLIANCE -- Senior Josh Colbert won the long jump to lead the Ohio Northern indoor men's track & field team at Day 1 of the OAC Championships, hosted by Mount Union.
The Polar Bears finished the day in second place with 39 points.
Mount Union leads the meet with 52 points, ONU is second and John Carroll is third with 28 points.
Colbert posted a season best leap of 7.07 meters (23-2.50).
In the 3,000-meter run, Northern had two runners earn All-OAC honors.
Junior Nate Rosenbaum finished second in 8:42.20 and freshman Aaren Hemmelgarn was third in 8:47.94.
The distance medley relay team of senior Evan McKee, juniors James Rader, Dan Steigerwald and Kyle Wagner earned All-OAC accolades with a second place finish in 10:26.96.
ONU also placed two athletes in the weight throw.
Junior Phil Farwig finished fifth with a throw of 15.84 meters (51-11.75) and freshman Lucas Shumate was sixth with a throw of 15.00 meters (49-2.50).
Day 2 of competition begins on Saturday at 10 with field events. Running events will start at 2 pm.
