Brancheau wins high jump to lead Men's Outdoor Track & Field at Kenyon Invitational

GAMBIER -- Sophomore Ryan Brancheau won the high jump to lead the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track & field team to a third place finish at the Kenyon Invitational on Saturday.
Kenyon won the event with 108 points, Ohio Wesleyan was second with 102 points and the Polar Bears finished with 83 points.
Brancheau cleared 1.88 meters on his second try, giving him the first place finish.
He also finished third in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.09 second and freshman Robbie Brinkman was fourth in 16.69 seconds.
ONU also swept both relays in the meet.
The 4x100-meter relay team of juniors Francisque Pierre-Jerome and Adrian Arias and freshman Devon Jones and Christian Rupe won the race in 42.50 seconds.
In the 4x400-meter relay, junior Evan McKee, sophomores Jonathan Roseler and James Rader and Rupe finished in 3:23.92, which was six seconds faster than the second place relay.
Pierre-Jerome also finished third in the 200-meter dash in 22.64 seconds and Roseler finished in 23.14 seconds, which placed him eighth.
In the shotput, sophomore Phil Farwig finished third with a throw of 14.00 meters.
Jones was third and Arias was fifth in the 100-meter dash, with times of 11.33 and 11.38 seconds, respectively.
Rader brought home a fourth place finish in the 400-meter run in 50.61 seconds.
Sophomore Dan Steigerwald crossed the finish line in 2:00.32 in the 800-meter run, which was good for a sixth place finish.
Farwig also finished seventh in the discus throwing 38.11 meters, while sophomore Lance Hartman was eighth with a throw of 37.79 meters.
In the javelin, freshman Jojuan Fisher posted a throw of 41.41 meters, which placed him in seventh place.
Freshman William Huddleston finished eighth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:15.63.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Friday and Saturday, when it competes at the OAC Championships hosted by Mount Union.
