Men's Indoor Track & Field finishes fifth at OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

ADA -- The Ohio Northern men's indoor track & field team finished fifth of nine teams at the OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears finished the championships with 79 points.
No. 6 Mount Union claimed the title with 192.33 points, John Carroll finished second with 111 points and Marietta was third with 106 points.
The 4x200 relay team of juniors Francisque Pierre-Jerome and Josh Colbert, sophomore Jonathan Roseler and freshman Christian Rupe earned All-OAC status with a second place finish in 1:30.93.
Pierre-Jerome also earned All-OAC status in the 60 dash and 200 dash, finishing in 6.99 and 22.63 seconds respectively.
Senior Michael Simmons earned his second All-OAC honor of the weekend, notching a third place finish in the 5,000 run in 15:27.22.
Sophomore Nate Rosenbaum also came in fourth in the 5,000 run in 15:28.07 and junior Mark Berton was seventh finishing in 15:49.51.
Junior Josh Colbert came in fourth in the 60 dash and freshman Devon Jones came in sixth with times of 7.04 seconds and 7.07 seconds respectively.
Sophomore Ryan Brancheau placed fifth in the high jump, clearing 1.97 meters.
Senior Mathew Johnson earned a seventh place finish in the 1,000 run, finishing in 2:37.58.
"I though we had some solid performances," said head coach Jason Maus. "We had some holes, but I though a lot of guys stepped up and filled the void."
Ohio Northern will return to action again on March 2 at the Last Chance Meet at Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
