Simmons and Colbert earn All-OAC accolades in Day 1 of OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

ADA -- Senior Michael Simmons and junior Josh Colbert earned All-OAC honors to lead the Ohio Northern men's indoor track & field team in Day 1 of the OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday evening at the ONU Sports Center.
ONU currently stand in fifth place with 26 points.
John Carroll is in first place with 37 points, No. 6 Mount Union is second with 36 points and Otterbein and Marietta are tied for third with 26 points apiece.
Simmons brought home a second place finish in the 3,000 run, finishing in 8:48.29.
Colbert earned All-OAC status in the long jump, posting a leap of 6.75 meters which placed him third.
The DMR team of juniors Evan McKee and Mathew Johnson and sophomores Dan Steigerwald and Jonathan Roseler finished fourth in 10:23.70.
Competition will resume again on Saturday with field events beginning at 10 am. Running events are scheduled to begin at 2 pm at the ONU Sports Center.
