Men’s Indoor Track & Field wins five events, captures team crown at OAC Relays
WESTERVILLE — The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team won five events and captured the team title at the 2009 OAC Relays meet at Otterbein on Saturday.
The Polar Bears (13-0 overall) stay unbeaten on the season, winning both of their scored meets this winter.
Northern won five of the 15 events on the day, including 1-2 finishes in the pole vault, 3000 run and 5000 run.
Thomas Adam and Alan Bowsher finished 1-2 in the 5000-meter run, with Adam winning in 15:10.54 and Bowsher finishing second in 15:15.13.
Kevin Stack and Nick Baker finished 1-2 in the 3000-meter run. Stack won in 9:00.17 and Baker was second in 9:03.02 for the Polar Bears.
Jacob Weyrauch and Andrew Lammers finished in a three-way tie for first place in the pole vault, clearing 4.27 meters.
Ohio Northern also won the 4x800 relay in 7:59.38 and won the 4x400 relay in 3:22.88.
The Polar Bears finished first out of 10 teams with 104 points.
Heidelberg was second with 96 points, Mount Union was third with 94 points and host Otterbein was fourth with 87 points
Ohio Northern's will be in action again on Friday at the DePauw (Ind.) Invitational.
