Men's Tennis gets back into win column with 7-0 victory over Franklin (Ind.)

LIMA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team snapped a 3-match losing streak with a solid 7-0 victory over Franklin (Ind.) indoors on Saturday afternoon.
The Basics

Individual Highlights
- ONU won two of the doubles courts to take the doubles point, then swept the six singles courts to record the victory.
- Senior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and sophomore Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) won 6-3 at No. 1 doubles and won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively.
- Specht won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Wood won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
- Freshman Noah Boyce (Oakwood) won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and joined sophomore Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) to win 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
- Senior Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
- Sophomore Kosuke Asada (Findlay) won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
- Junior Nico Rogel (Alicante, Spain/Hoosac) won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.

- ONU leads the series between the two schools by a 3-0 margin.
- The NCAA had adopted a 7-point team scoring system for Division III, where the three doubles contests only count for one team point as is used in NCAA Divisions I and II.
- Wood leads the team with a 14-5 singles record and Boyce is right behind at 13-7.
- Specht, Wood and Boyce each have 9 doubles wins.
- Wood has a team-best 23-16 overall record.
- Boyce is second overall at 22-17.
