Men's Tennis wraps up spring break trip with 6-1 loss to Washington College (Md.)

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip with a 6-1 loss to Washington College (Md.) at the Fee Avenue Tennis Center on Thursday.
The Basics

Individual Highlights
- WC won two of the doubles courts to take the doubles point, then won five of the six singles courts to record the victory.
- Senior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and sophomore Tyler Wood (Toledo/St. John's) won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
- Wood won 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 at No. 3 singles.
- The Shoremen won the Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 singles courts.

- WC leads the series between the two schools 1-0.
- The NCAA had adopted a 7-point team scoring system for Division III, where the three doubles contests only count for one team point as is used in NCAA Divisions I and II.
- Wood leads the team with 13 singles wins, while freshman Noah Boyce (Oakwood) is right behind with 12.
- Junior T.J. Schultz (Grand Blanc, Mich.), Wood and Boyce each have 8 doubles wins.
- Wood has a team-best 21-16 overall record.
- Boyce is second overall at 20-17.
- Senior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) is 112-76 overall in his career, which includes a 52-41 singles mark and a 60-35 doubles record.
- Third-year head coach Sean Swisher is 37-19 at the helm of the ONU men's tennis team, a winning percentage of .661.
