Swisher, Specht and Sran named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators

ADA — Ohio Northern senior Drew Swisher (Findlay) and juniors Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) were named 2022-23 Academic All-District in men's tennis by College Sports Communicators.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, each student-athlete must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be at least a sophomore in athletic eligibility and have played in at least 50 percent of his team's games during the season.
Swisher posted an overall record of 27-11 this season, including 6-5 in singles and 21-6 in doubles.
He is 89-39 overall in his ONU career, including 33-16 in singles and 56-23 in doubles.
Swisher is a two-time Academic All-District award winner.
Specht is also a two-time Academic All-District honoree.
He is 101-54 in his ONU career, including 49-28 in singles and 52-26 in doubles.
This season, Specht was 14-14 in singles, a team-best 25-5 in doubles and 39-19 overall.
Sran is also a two-time Academic All-District honoree.
He was 8-16 in singles and 8-16 in doubles for an overall mark of 16-32 this season.
In his ONU career, he is 70-63 overall, including 47-31 in singles and 23-1632in doubles.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Men's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced May 31.
Under second-year head coach Sean Swisher, the Polar Bears finished the 2023-24 season 19-6 overall, won the conference's Regular Season title with a 6-0 record.
Northern won its third straight OAC Tournament championship, and 13th overall, to claim the program's eighth NCAA Tournament berth.
