Men's Tennis wraps up spring break trip with victories over Wisconsin-La Crosse and Anderson (Ind.)

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team wrapped up its annual spring break trip with victories over Wisconsin-La Crosse and Anderson (Ind.) on Thursday.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (11-5 overall), Wisconsin-La Crosse (10-6 overall), Anderson (7-4 Overall)
- Venue: Sanlando Courts - Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Match #1 - W, 7-2
- Northern won two of the three doubles courts and five of the six singles courts.
- Junior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and freshman Tyler Wood (Toldeo/St. John's Jesuit) each went 2-0 for ONU.
- The pair won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.
- Junior Drew Swisher (Findlay) and freshman Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) won 8-7(3) at No. 3 doubles.
- Junior Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) won 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Specht rallied to win 0-6, 6-2, 10-1 at No. 2.
- Junior T.J. Schultz (Grand Blanc, Mich.) won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 and Wood won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4.
- Senior Kavya Desai (Bloomfield Hills, Mich) won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
Match #2 - W, 5-4
- Northern won two of the three doubles courts and three of the six singles courts.
- Specht and Wood won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
- Hackenberger and freshman Aaron Davis (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) won 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
- Four of the six singles courts went to a third-set tiebreaker.
- Sran won 6-2, 4-6, 10-3 at No. 1 and Swisher won 6-3, 3-6, 10-4 at No. 4.
- Freshman Kosuke Asada (Findlay) won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
Notables
- The matches were the fourth and fifth of Northern's five-match spring break trip this week.
- Specht and Wood each went 3-1 on the day.
- Wood leads the team with a 14-5 singles record.
- Specht has a team-best 17-5 doubles mark and Hackenberger is a team-best 27-6 overall.
- Second-year head coach Sean Swisher is now 22-13 at the helm of the ONU men's tennis team, a winning percentage of .629.
