Men's Tennis falls to 8-5 on season with tight 5-4 loss to Washington (College (Md.)

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team fell to 1-1 on its spring break trip with a tight 5-4 loss to Washington College (Md.) on Tuesday afternoon at the United States Tennis Academy.
The Basics

The Match
- Northern split the three singles courts after falling in two of the three the three doubles courts.
- Junior Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.), freshman Tyler Wood (Toldeo/St. John's Jesuit) and freshman Kessler Hackenberger (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) all won singles matches.
- Specht won 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 at No. 2, Wood won 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 at No. 4 and Hackenberger won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.
- Hackenberger and junior Drew Swisher (Findlay) won 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.

- The match was the second of Northern's five-match spring break trip this week.
- Hackenberger went 2-0 on the day.
- Wood leads the team with a 12-5 singles record.
- Specht has a team-best 14-4 doubles mark and Hackenberger is a team-best 23-5 overall.
