Specht, Sran lead Men's Tennis at ITA Central Regional Championships

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule by competing at the ITA Central Regional Championships Friday-Sunday at Stowe Stadium.

The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (4-1)

The Match
- Juniors Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and Sam Sran (Punjab, India/St. Stephens and Gian Jyoti Global) and senior Kavya Desai (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) all competed for the Polar Bears.
- Specht posted a 1-2 record in singles play, reaching the round of 16 in the consolation bracket.
- He won 6-4, 6-3 in the round of 32 of the consolation bracket before being eliminated in a tight 7-5, 3-6, 10-8 decision.
- In doubles play, Specht and Sran won their opening match 8-6 before falling in the round of 32 by an 8-3 count.
- Sran and Desai each went 0-2 in their singles matches.
Notables
- The rest of the Polar Bears competed at the Denison Invitational over the weekend. Results from that competition are expected to be available from DU on Sunday.
- Sean Swisher is now 17-9 in his second season as head coach of the ONU men's tennis team.
