BEREA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team improved to 4-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference and kept its league title hopes alive with a 7-2 victory at Baldwin Wallace on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Pop Collins Tennis Courts.
The Polar Bears improve to 10-7 overall, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 12-3, 2-3.
Junior Kavya Desai (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and sophomores Peyton Specht (Munster, Ind.) and Drew Swisher (Findlay) each went 2-0 on the day to lead Ohio Northern.
ONU began the match by winning two of the three doubles courts.
BW won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles to take a quick 1-0 lead, but Desai and sophomore Tristan Munteanu (Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon) tied the match at 1-1 with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
Specht and Swisher won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles to give Northern a 2-1 lead entering singles play.

With the victory, ONU keeps its OAC Regular Season title hopes alive.

An Ohio Northern victory over Mount Union and a John Carroll win over Otterbein would leave ONU, OU and JCU in a three-way tie for the crown.
