This Weekend's Matches: The Ohio Northern men's tennis team will open its 2021-22 season this weekend with three-match road trip ... ONU will open the season on Saturday with a 1 pm contest at Cedarville ... On Sunday, Northern will play at Hanover (Ind.) at 10 am and at Franklin (Ind.) at 3:30 pm ... Saturday's match at Cedarville will be played by the NCAA Division II rules which feature 6-game doubles matches, no-let serving and a 7-point scoring system in which the team that wins two of the three doubles matches will score the single doubles point ... Coming off a 4-3 campaign in the spring, the Ohio Northern men's tennis team is excited about its prospects for the 2021-22 season ... Sixth-year head coach Mike Bonnell certainly likes the nine-man roster he has this fall ... "I'm really excited to see where this thing goes," he said. "When you have new talent that is surrounded by excellent returners that I trust completely, it's going to make for a great team atmosphere." ... Fifth-year senior Vinh Thai headlines the group of six returning players for the Polar Bears this season ... A pair of three-year lettermen in seniors Zach Beaschler and Andrew Cochran also return to the Polar Bears for the 2021-22 season.
